Steven McKean, Founder, Chairman and CEO Acceller
Mr. McKean is the driving visionary behind the company’s unique comparison shopping and information platform. for selling digital lifestyle services to consumers. Acceller sells to consumers though Digitallanding.com, an information-base for gaining digital lifestyle knowledge, and through channel partners including Hewlett Packard, Amazon and DIRECTV. Under McKean’s leadership, the company has grown to 50 employees, secured digital service partnerships with the top broadband providers and is listed as an Inc. 500 company.

Prior to founding Acceller, Mr. McKean was co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of MEDWerks.com, an Application Service Provider (ASP) for medical claims adjudication and payment. In this role, Mr. McKean developed a business plan and financial model which secured $10 million in venture funding. He also served the key role of establishing key strategic business and technology partnerships with IBM and Arthur Andersen.

Previously, Mr. McKean was Master Franchisor for International Dairy Queen for Dade Confection where he expanded the company’s regional base from 11 to 28 stores, while improving the base’s operational infrastructure. Beyond increasing media brand exposure from 55% to 68% of the market, he tripled Dade Confection’s revenues and corresponding shareholder value.

Mr. McKean also served as a Senior Business Consultant and Auditor at Arthur Andersen Consulting. During this time he led a team responsible for process re-engineering projects for Walgreens, the Sports Authority, and Ivax Pharmaceuticals. He also conducted and supervised audit engagements in healthcare, wholesaling, and distribution areas.

A recognized speaker, Mr. McKean has given presentations on business development, entrepreneurship and telecommunications technology at events that include Phone+ Expo, Red Herring Venture South, University of Michigan Growth Capital Symposium, Florida Venture Forum, and the Consumer Electronics Show.

A Miami native, Mr. McKean serves as a member of the University of Miami Founders Board, the University of Miami Citizen’s Club, the Young Presidents Organization, the Zell Lurie Entrepreneurial Institute Advisory Board and as a SFGF Director.

Mr. McKean holds a BBA and MAcc in Accounting from the University of Michigan and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Michigan.
